Center for Effective Parenting The center has a multitude of resources for parents, teachers, schools, and children on the internet. E-Skolar Great psychology resource for educators with subjects such as; Understanding Adolescence, Current Research in Social Psychology, a Guide for Psychology Educators and more. Tools For Educators Free worksheets, worksheet creator, printables wizard and on-line teaching materials makers with images. Great resources for teachers who can use these printout generators, game makers and programs to make and print teaching resources with pictures or text. Soft Schools Provides free math worksheets, free math games, grammar quizzes and free phonics worksheets and games. Worksheets and games are organized by grades and topics. These printable math and phonics worksheets are auto generated. After School Provides resources, materials, and examples of effective practices of after-school programs. America Counts This site offers research findings and resources about math. America Reads Family members, educators, childcare providers and all interested members of the community can find information on how to help a child learn to read. ERIC Web Portal Ask Eric, the Educational Resources Information Center (ERIC) serves as an online clearinghouse to provide education related information to teachers and other education professionals. The Virtual Library features lesson plans submitted by educators which are grouped by subject, resources for educators, a conference calendar, a listserv database, among other features. There’s also a question and answer department to provide additional assistance. AACAP American Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry. The Facts For Families section is of special interest to parent educators and to parents. It contains articles/fact sheets related to a variety of concerns, such as manic depression, sleep problems, eating disorders, and more. Child Trends Child Trends, Inc. is a nonprofit research organization dedicated to studying children, youth and families through research, data collection, and data analyses. It features current news and trends, publications, fact sheets, links and offers a listserv. Childrens Defense The Children’s Defense Fund and the Black Community Crusade for Children both have information on this site. There are publications available from both organizations, but there is a fee involved. It also contains news and reports related to children’s issues, and links for child advocates. Not much information on this site other than information about the organizations. Puzzlemaker Discovery Education Puzzlemaker is a puzzle generation tool for teachers, students and parents. Children, Youth and Family Consortium The Table of Contents section provides a wealth of links, articles and publications on parenting related issues for parents, parent educators, and education personnel, as well as information about the CYFC. Also hosts the site FatherNet. Child Stats This is the official web site of the Federal Interagency Forum on Child and Family Statistics. The site offers access to federal and state statistics and reports on children and families, including: population and family characteristics, economic security, health, education and more. Connecting with Parents This is an online book of best practices for disseminating child-rearing and education-related information to parents. The practices described in the book focus primarily on ways to access those parents not usually reached with traditional printed materials. Cyfernet The Cooperative Extension Service publishes this page. Links for children, youth, and family professionals are provided here. "Especially for Parents" features a report about a parent education model, among other links on a variety of parenting topics. The kids’ section features links for kids. Also of interest are the six project areas that are part of the USDA’s CYFAR initiative. These include health, child care, collaborations, family strength, science & technology, and community based programs, which the visitor can link directly into. Education Planet Links and resources for educators can be found at this site on a variety of subjects. There are also discussion groups for educators, grant information, curriculum information, and lesson plan tools available, among other features. Family Friendly Schools This site features a model for family friendly schools and making your school more family friendly. It also contains resources for educators on developing strong family partnerships with schools. Federal Resources for Educational Excellence This website makes it easy for teachers, parents, students, and other to find learning resources from more than 40 federal organizations. TLS Books This website offers free printable worksheets broken down by age/grade level. Getting Ready for College Key information about funding and materials to help all children get ready for college. Handsnet This is a web site that serves to link human service organizations online. You must become a member to access all of it’s services, but it does provide links to various human service organizations which might be helpful to parent educators. It also highlights legislation and issues affecting human services organizations. NCJRS The National Criminal Justice Reference Service provides copies of reports in a variety of areas, such as juvenile justice, drugs & crime, statistics, research, etc. There is also information on funding opportunities available. Keep Schools Safe This site features a collection of resources on how parents, students and educators can keep schools safer. Has a list of resources for each state.	KY Colonels The Kentucky Colonels organization helps individuals throughout Kentucky. One of the programs is the Colonel's Scholarship. Keys to Safer Schools This site equips teachers, parents, administrators, and counselors with training and materials for the detection and prevention of school violence. It offers on line training, resources, and current news articles on school violence. Learning Network This site has great resources for educators. It features sections on lesson planning, classroom management, school-home communication, and professional development, to name a few. Learning Disability Online This web site is for parent, teachers and children with disabilities. The site contains a page for teachers which features information on teaching children with learning disabilities and resources for educators. Maternal and Child Health Bureau The page provides information about the bureau and has information, applications and instructions for funding opportunities for child and maternal health related grants. The publications section provides abstracts and ordering information about MCHB publications (videos and reports – both consumer oriented and professional), and advertises publications in foreign languages such as Vietnamese, Chinese, and more. Most of the publications were free. There is also a links page for related sites. NAEYC National Association for the Education of Young Children. The NAEYC is an organization of early childhood professionals dedicated to improving the quality of early childhood education programs for children birth through age eight. This site offers resources, newsletters and information for both parents and parent educators about child education programs, and has a locator to search for accredited programs nationwide. NCPIE National Coalition for Parent Involvement in Education. The National Coalition for Parent Involvement in Education is dedicated to developing effective family/school partnerships in schools throughout America. The site gives guidelines for schools and school districts in developing partnerships, as well as publications and current news. National Committee to Prevent Child Abuse This site contains facts and statistics about child abuse, reviews programs, resources and research on child abuse. It contains a few parenting tips on child abuse related issues. There’s a prevention packet for parents, which includes activities for parents and children. It also has a directory of state chapters on child abuse prevention. NEPEMCPP National Extension Parent Education Model of Critical Parenting Practices. This is an electronic version of a parent education model developed by Charles A. Smith from Kansas State University. In this final report, this team outlines a model of parent education that provides common ground for extension professionals throughout the Cooperative Extension System. The National Extension Parent Education Model (NEPEM) is a dynamic approach to parent education constructed through consensus. National Institute of Health This site provides background on the NIH in Bethesda, Maryland. It contains current and past archives of news releases and events. The health information page contains quite a few consumer, physician, and researcher related reports on various health issues. There is a grants and contracts page that has information on funding opportunities, award data, and more. NNCC The National Network for Childcare has created this site which features over 1000 publications that target both parents and parent educators. A discussion group called Kidcare, a newsletter that features three sections (family care, child care centers, and school age) and information about the NNCC comprise this site. Parent educators can also utilize a funding links page to review resources for funding through the Department of Education, Office of Juvenile Justice, and Delinquency Prevention and more. PTA Information about the National Parent Teacher Association can be located here. This site contains information about PTA’s history, current legislative activity, programs that the PTA is involved with, links to state PTA groups and other child advocacy organizations, as well as discussion groups. Prof Top Parents as Teachers National Center, Inc. Information about the Parents as Teachers program and how parental involvement in the PAT program can benefit children can be found at this web site. It also features training information and a form to fill out to obtain more information about the project. Safety Zone The National Resource Center for Safe Schools sponsors this site. The site includes information on safe school strategies, publications, databases, recommended readings and more. Seven Counties Seven Counties Services is a community mental health center. Serving Bullitt, Henry, Jefferson, Oldham, Shelby, Spencer and Trimble counties in Kentucky. They provide planning, prevention, treatment and support in the areas of mental health, alcohol and other drug abuse, and mental retardation and other developmental disabilities. U.S. Department of Education Promoting educational excellence for all Americans. The teachers site provides information about finding grants, teaching opportunities, student assessment and more. HHS The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is the United States government's principal agency for protecting the health of all Americans and providing essential human services, especially for those who are least able to help themselves. The WonderWise Parent Charles A. Smith, a Kansas State University professor of Child Development, developed this page. It offers the chance to take credit or non-credit courses online in different areas of child development. For those not interested in taking courses, there are parenting links, news about children, a humor section and a section called "Reflections" with activities designed to help parents reflect on various parenting related issues. In addition, parent educators can order programs and materials from the KSU Cooperative Extension Office for little or no cost. Zero To Three This web site has both parent and professional sections. Professionals will find information, tip sheets, resources, training opportunities to assist them in working with parents of children aged birth to three.
